Colt 45 Unleashes Guitar Shred-Off Contest

If you’re 18 and above, have killer guitar chops, and ready to rock at the Pulp Summer Slam, then join Colt 45’s “Shred to Slam” Nationwide Competition 2011.

Guitarists, male or female, 18 to 35 years of age, and unsigned to any major record label, must pre-register at colt45shredtoslam@yahoo.com immediately to sign up for the upcoming regional competitions. Send in your name, age, gender, musical bio-data, and photo as well as which regional competition you will join. Only the first 45 registrants per region will be screened.

The regional competitions will be at Capone’s, Makati for the Greater Manila region on April 1, 2011; Maxi’s Bar, Cagayan de Oro, for Mindanao on April 2; Brad’s Bar in Olongapo for Northern Luzon, on April 8; Harrison Park, Cebu for the Visayas, April 9; and Amnesia Bar, Laguna for Southern Luzon, April 15. Screening will be from 4 pm to 8 pm at all venues.

Contestants must be ready with a 2-minute performance, 11 bottle-caps of Colt 45, and a bio-data with photograph to enter. They will be paired, by lots, with another guitarist for a shredding throw-down.

Winners of the regional finals will be flown to Manila for the national competition on April 16, at Capone’s, Makati, along with one companion, with accommodation and pocket money courtesy of Colt 45 and Air Philippines.

They will also take home P5,000 in prize money from their regional win. 
Up for grabs for the grand prize are P20,000 in cash and a chance to strut your stuff on stage at the upcoming Pulp Summer Slam with some of the country’s guitar greats. 1st and 2nd runner-ups will get P10,000 and P5,000 in cash. All winners will also be given a pair of VIP tickets to the Slam as well as gift packs from Colt 45.
